The Holy Father on St. Joseph

In St. Joseph, the Pope said, the believing world can see the “emergence of the new man, who looks with trust and courage to the future, who does not follow his own plans but entrusts himself entirely to the infinite mercy of the One Who fulfills the prophecies, the One Who opens the time of salvation."
(quoted from Catholic Culture)

I am a big fan of St. Joseph.  He is invoked regularly around here and I consider him my foster father, too.  Very often I need a man around the house and the closest thing I can find is a ten-year-old boy.  "St. Joseph, help!" is my first resort.

One day the boys' closet door came off the track for the millionth time.  The doors to their closet are heavy and I do not have a lot of upper body strength.  I would just keep the doors off but the little boys are known to make a huge mess and dump out all the to-grow-into-clothes I have stored in there---talk about a mess.  I kept trying to put the door back on its track but it was so hard for me to lift it that every time I got it high enough I was too clumsy with it to fit the little wheels into the track.  (Is this making sense?!)  Finally I got it up again and said, "St. Joseph, help!" and just like that the door was on the track and hasn't come off since.

Just as Our Lady trusted him, just as Jesus was "subject" to him as a father (imagine the Creator subjecting Himself to the authority of a fallible creature!) so I have found that I can lean on St. Joseph.
