Inquiring Minds Want to Know...

I would like to know why a spent cigarette tossed into a trashcan has the ability to burn down a thirty-story apartment building, turning it into a towering inferno, but I, armed with kindling, a propane torch, matches, paper, cardboard and other flammable items, spent over an hour this morning getting the fire started.

Just wondering.
